Двери с использованием шпона отличаются высоким уровнем устойчивости к механическим повреждениям, индифферентностью к перепадам температуры и влажности, а также малым весом. Говоря о недостатках нельзя не отметить плохую ремонтопригодность и устойчивость к воздействию ультрафиолета. Его обильное влияние не редко приводит к образованию пятен на поверхности двери.
Ламинированные двери — основой такой дверной конструкции служит сосновый клееный брус, что облицован при помощи плит ДСП или МДФ. Пустое пространство заполняется сотами из картона или ДСП. Поверхностное покрытие ламинируется. Ламинированная дверь очень неустойчива к механическому урону. Небольшое ударное повреждение может привести всю конструкцию в полную негодность.
