токопроводящий модуль из алюминия (имеет круглую или секторную форму, бывает однопроволочным или многопроволочным);
изоляция отдельных жил, общая поясная изоляция – изготовлены из кабельной бумаги, которая пропитывается материалом вязкостной либо нестекающей консистенции;
зашита силового элемента (спрессованная свинцовая трубка);
подушка – представляет собой слой битума, крепированной бумаги, полиэтилентерефталатных лент, которыми покрывается оболочка свинцовой трубочки;
броня из слоя стальных лент;
наружный слой – изготавливается из стекловолокна и битума, обеспечивающего дополнительную прочность.

Секторная форма токопроводящих жил существенно уменьшает габариты изделия. Такие уменьшения особенно заметны при сопоставлении с кабелями, токонесущую основу которых составляют провода круглой формы.

Для точных расчетов полной массы используемого кабеля необходимо включать предполагаемую строительную длину.
Сферы применения, условия монтажа
Силовой кабель АСБ предназначен для применения в стационарных сетях. Допустимая частота тока – 50 Гц, номинальное напряжение – 1–10 кВ. Благодаря проводнику осуществляется передача и последующее распределение электроэнергии.
Высокие технические характеристики позволяют укладывать кабель в открытом грунте либо траншеях. Почва с низкой и средней коррозийной активностью абсолютно не страшна маркам АСБ, АСБл.
