Снегозадержание актуально практически в любом регионе нашей страны. Попав на крышу, снег вначале ложится слоем. Затем, нижний слой начинает подтаивать от тепла крыши и замерзать под действием мороза на улице. Снег, лежащий на слое льда, может в любой момент обрушиться вниз и причинить вред водостокам и кровле, человеку, украшениям на земле, автомобилю. Поэтому стоит заранее подумать над снегозадержателями или по-другому снегоуловителями. В зависимости от типа крыши, материала из которого она покрыта и региона нахождения дома снегозадержатели могут быть универсальными или рассчитанными под определённый вид. Сегодня доступны 3 вида снегоуловителей:
Трубчатые и уголковые;
Решётчатые и пластинчатые;
Точечные.
При работе со снегозадержателями необходимо пользоваться страховочными приспособлениями.
Виды снегозадержателей
Трубчатые и решётчатые снегозадержатели являются универсальными и подходят для кровли из рулонных и листовых материалов или натуральной черепицы. Этот вид считается наиболее надёжным и применяют его даже на крышах с крутым уклоном.
Удлиняют такие виды при помощи стыковки труб для трубчатых и добавлением дополнительных секций для решётчатых. Однако на крышах с уклоном 60 и более градусов установка снегозадержателей нецелесообразна.
Трубчатые снегозадержатели подходят тогда, когда крыша имеет наклон в 20 — 35 градусов, дом находится в регионе с обильными осадками. Этот тип снегоуловителя может удерживать толстый слой снега, который обладает значительным весом. Одним из самых важных плюсов этого типа является, то, что эти снегозадержатели можно устанавливать в любой момент. Кронштейны трубчатых снегоуловителей крепятся к обрешётке через материал кровельного покрытия.
Такой вид, как крючья-снегоупоры подходят для крыш с покрытием из рубероида или еврочерепицы. Устанавливаются они только в процессе демонтажа или капитального ремонта покрытия. Используют такой вид на крышах с уклоном менее 30 градусов. Крепят крючья в несколько рядов в шахматном порядке по всей крыше в момент укладки кровли путём крепления к обрешётке. Точка опоры должна приходится на 2 — 3 места несущей конструкции.
Снегозадержатели в виде пластин и уголков используют на покрытии из жести. 
Если ваша крыша покрыта оцинкованным железом, металлочерепицей или профнастилом, то вы можете легко установить этот вид уловителя. Для его установки не нужно снимать кровлю. 
Минус такого вида уловителя — относительная прочность и невозможность установки на крышах с уклоном менее 30 градусов. Однако это самый бюджетный вариант.
Снегозадержатели для мягкой кровли отличаются от всех остальных в связи с конструктивными особенностями такой кровли. По строительным нормам угол ската такой крыши не может быть выше 15 градусов, поэтому для неё можно использовать снегоуловители из более лёгких материалов. Крепятся такие уловители к основанию, которое находится под мягким покрытием.
Даже если на вашей крыше установлены самые мощные уловители, снег всё равно нужно периодически убирать. Если не делать регулярную очистку, то масса снега будет увеличиваться. Давление на кровлю и снегозадержатели будет возрастать и может привести к их повреждению.
Необходимые материалы
Снегоуловители определённого вида, в зависимости от типа покрытия крыши;
Комплект креплений;
Шурупы;
Резиновые уплотнители.
Для всех видов снегозадержателей есть общие правила установки. Начинают установку от края карниза, отступая от кромки крыши 30 — 50 см. Там, где снег выпадает обильно снегоуловители устанавливают в два ряда с промежутком в 5 — 5,5 метров. Если снегозадержатели устанавливаются на мягкую кровлю, то используют резиновые уплотнители, предотвращающие попадание влаги в крепления.
Размещение уловителей разница от их типа. Трубчатые располагают в одну линию, уголковые и точечные — в шахматном порядке.
Установка снегозадержателей
Трубчатые устанавливаются по линии размещения несущих стен. Соседние крепления должны находиться на расстоянии 60 — 110 см друг от друга. Все отверстия для шурупов уплотняются резиновыми уплотнителями. Чаще всего используют овальную форму и 4 кронштейна.
Точечные снегоуловители прикручивают к основанию крыши. Место соединения накрывается следующим листом кровельного покрытия.
Чтобы правильно рассчитать необходимую для вашего дома систему снегозадержания и узнать количество необходимых снегоуловительных конструкций для покупки нужно:
Узнать точную длину кровли;
Посчитать с помощью угломера угол наклона кровли;
Замерить длину ската: от вершину конька до нижней точки карниза;
Посмотреть снеговую нагрузку в регионе проживания;
В результате правильного подсчета и подбора вида снегозадержателей на крышу, а также регулярной и своевременной очистки крыш от снега лавинообразный обвал подтаявшего снега будет предотвращен. Схождение снега будет постепенным и равномерным.
